New Beginnings:When Doves Fly

LATE POST!

Eight is the number of new beginnings! Today is the eighth day of the eighth month. Thank God for new beginnings and new mercies.

I write this as I sit swinging on my pergola on my back deck. It is new. I hear the woofer of a flying hummingbird and watch the bees do their thing in my garden. It is new too: 2 years.

New has all kinds of emotions because it is filled with the unknown. I have decided to embrace new with a wide eyed welcoming smile in the light of day rather than a squinty apprehensive grimace in darkness.

I get to write my own story right?!!! My new has been waiting on me. Waiting because ITSTIME

  • for focus and vision

  • for maintenance and self care

  • for weed removal… remove that which is unfruitful

  • to lay aside every weight and sin that so easily besets

  • to schedule and finish the undone

  • to GO

  • to GOD!

“Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground;” Genesis‬ ‭8:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This scripture is from the account of Noah “testing the waters“. Things are NEW! There has been a reset! People always say: “God knows my heart”. Indeed He does. We come to the text here because of the heart of man in Genesis 6:5. 🤭😳It wasn’t good.

Here is the take away:

GOD:

  1. remembered Noah! 1 man with 8 people.

  2. this ark excursion began alone, in ridicule, in isolation and yes in quarantine!

  3. Noah sent out the raven and the dove. The raven is a busy bird, going to and fro. The dove moves with purpose. Let go of those things that won’t return to you! Release those that will stick with you and aide you in your God purpose.

When Doves Fly!

May you be blessed in your new beginnings, like the dove, to:

  1. know you are chosen by the Father;

  2. know you have an assignment. Don’t be afraid to be separated; that leads to reuniting, restoration, redemption, reconciliation, recompense and reparations. I know that’s a lot and deep but for you to do YOUR part is imperative!

  3. prioritize, set things in order, stay focused!

  4. begin your task(s); regroup if you must

  5. complete your tasks

When Doves fly, they die to self (trading their will for the Master’s will) and the overcome obstacles. Why jump a hurdle when you were made to soar above them?

FLY! Be free!
