When I found out that the World Games were coming to town, I saw the projection of 18 million dollars coming to the city for nonhotel stay. At that point all I could hear was the theme song to the Jeffersons and I wanted my ”piece of THE PIE!“ 🥧
The pandemic pushed it back a year to 2022 and I felt this was a time for me to grab a hold and not let this pass me by. (Genesis 32:26)
I have been doing renovations in my home from years. One year it was all about that pallet life. Another year I was laying flooring and painting everything. Well last month it was all about the basement. My brother moved out April 2. I have been experiencing some great favor and miracles.
RECYCLED BLESSINGS
All my furniture, and even paint, came from Facebook Market. As I made some purchases, some things were added; like “can you use this or take this too.” No singular item exceeded $350 and a $30 purchase came with 5 other home decor items! One of my initial (and favorite purchases) was a $75 sleeper sofa that was 6 months old. #WINNING
I know the Lord Wiilllll make a way! Yes He will!
Mind you I was borrowing trucks and storing all this furniture in my garage. And yep, I packed it out till walking through was like sitting in a tight church pew (excuse me, excuse me... Sorry)
HOW?
It was the Lord! I would leave work, come home and as the day ordered: borrow a truck and get furniture or clean or paint or set up furniture or lay flooring. Mind you, I got my real estate license back, planted my garden, had a medical procedure, was still Ubering and going to training and cutting grass too! I have cornered this stuff from Chelsea to Hoover to Alabaster to Forestdale and parts in between!
The game changer was when I told my aunts what I was doing and they came over Easter Sunday and said “I will help”. Wow, I wasn't even soliciting but y'all... clearly I needed it, right?
Super Aunts. I heard one referring to me as “ she's the first born. She gets whatever she wants”. Man, what an honorable sentiment stored in my heart.
MARATHON DAYS
This is one of the marathon days.
27 hour recap
1. 6am training
2. Home Depot (return 2 buy 5 more &unload)
3. Mop and paint floor in BR2 & living room
4. Goto work. nap 4 lunch
5.Off work @ 6
6.Borrow truck 6:45
7.Box spring in Hoover
8.Desk Vestavia
9.side table Odenville
10. Unload solo 9:20-9:50
11. Return truck
12. Come home & lay floors in step 3
13.bed at 1 am.
14. Training @ 5 am
15. Uber drive
16. Began work @ 8:45. Nap for lunch
Yep this is supernatural! But when I got tired, I couldn't help but shut down. I had about 2 or 3 of those.
Confirmation
God was so beautifully confirming my steps and sending people to help. One friend told me I could borrow the truck any time. The day I found the leather blue sofa, I text to ask if I could borrow the truck to go to Chelsea to get it. He responded that he was working in Chelsea and to just send him the address. LOOK AT GOD! He picked it up and delivered it to me. (Slain ugly cry)
I removed carpet from 3 rooms solo. So this was nearly a complete gut.
I did some things out of order like moving furniture into the rooms before the flooring was put down. But I had no choice. The blessings I got dictated my movements. I needed some sheetrock work and had my mind set on a future project. I found a stack of damaged sheetrock at Lowes: 18 pieces. The man said I had to buy the whole lot. Shoulders down sigh... For 90% off! Hands raised yes!!! $27.56 So I began moving the furniture into my house cause help came by. Once the sleeper sofas were in place, everything else was easy.
As I was doing this, I knew I would host, my friend Meechie’s Gender Reveal at my home. So that was my minor timeline with the next week of May 1 being the major one to be complete so I can upload for the AirBNB. Meechie’s mom called me the Friday at 2:40 pm the day before the GR and stated that they (She, her 2 daughters and Matt’s mom) wanted to drive in from Houston and surprise Meechie and Matt. AND THIS IS WHY I had to move the furniture in before the flooring was in place. They blessed me to be my first guests and were a great trial run!
I have countless great stories of my interactions with the FB Mkt sellers, those who allowed me to borrow their vehicles, those who gave me their military discount, those who live in Northern states, those who showed up to help in the yard. The Lord is my Shepherd and I shall not want. And the sheep in this flock are an amazing stock.
I also have stories of disappointment and hurt that appeared during this time. But the impact of those snakes 🐍 and a scorpions 🦂 (Luke 10:18-20) was like spit on a wildfire! It was more kindling. My God is a consuming fire!
This is some ram in the bush... walk by faith not by sight... More than a conqueror... Genesis 12:3…Overcoming by the Word of our testimony and the Blood of the Lamb type stuff!!! And I still haven’t told the half! 😏 The Great I Am provides for me! He both knows what you need and what you don't need!
