Great is Your Grace

ree

We have a way of comparing situations that ultimately just make us feel better about ourselves.

Today I think of Rahab. She was the harlot (prostitute) that hid the spies, lied, got rescue for herself and family and found herself in the lineage of Jesus. Matthew 1:5…. She is King David’s great great grandmother.

HOW?!!!

  • How did she become a prostitute? Was she molested? Did she suffer abuse at the hands of or under the shelter of her family? Or was she simply rebellious?

Whatever the answer to those questions, the enemy could not ruin her love for her family!

Her Request

This was her request in Joshua 2:13:

13 And that ye will save alive my father, and my mother, and my brethren, and my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death.

This is the best association to the number 13 I have ever seen and it is a paradigm shift for me!

Everything that the Lord made is good. Allowing number 13 to be labeled unlucky is just as rouge as the rainbow 🌈 being used for anything other than God bringing us into remembrance of his promise to man.

REASONS

(in my Phillip Bailey voice)

I am reminded of the John 9 account questioning the reason for the man’s blindness.

“Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” John‬ ‭9:3-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

WORK WORK WORK

Rahab did her work in the dark of the night, but she heard about God and it brought her into the light and made her a child of the Day. Here’s her account:

“And she said unto the men, I know that the Lord hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you.

For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed.

And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the Lord your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath.” (👈🏽That part)

‭‭Joshua‬ ‭2:9-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God used an unlikely woman who made an unlikely request whose fate became unlike the rest of her country. Surely, God is likely to work through you, if you, like Rahab, work your belief in God.

How is that for a comparison? Believing in God and the Finished works of Christ is a welcome into the Family of God. It brings salvation to you and your household! Acts 16:31

Welcome to This Family of Great Grace! There is room for you here!
