Disappearing Acts

Who hasn’t been intrigued by magic? By definition magic is “the art of producing a desired effect or result through the use of incantation or various other techniques that presumably assure human control of supernatural agencies or the forces of nature.”

Man (worldy man) uses magic. God uses miracles (oracles that mirror God). God created man to operate in the miraculous. This is called DOMINION.

LATE NIGHT SHOW

For more than a decade God has Joe Tex “I Gotcha“ style invaded my life. I now have an appreciation for this being beautiful. He invades the dark areas of my life and it has happened around my sleep. It began in my dream life. Now that expands to before I go to bed.

Last week my mind raced so much that I literally laid down in bed with a notebook 📓, pen 🖊 and flashlight🔦.

The thoughts seemed random but as I reviewed them today, they create an outline and are as follows:

• Being able to discern its presence, you can also pray for its absence.

• Finished Business

• Popped Corn 🌽 🍿

• Born Again

• Tree of Life 🌳

• Getting Back to Basics

• James 3:13 “Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.”

• Sweet Spot

• Victory Belongs to Jesus song

• Swerve song (clean version)

• For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life. (Romans 6:23)

At the moment, I’m not going to detail every bullet point, for there is a story or more behind each that means something to me. But I will say all that speaks to me like an inside joke/story (intimacy) between my Creator and me.

ARTICULATION

In Genesis 1, God “saw” the darkness but spoke light. OPPOSITES. We have that power too and, through Christ, it produces beyond magic, the miracle of dominion.

As we are in this world but not of this world, we are called to operate #OPPOSITE of how this world does to bring the Dominion of the Kingdom of God.

See I actually was thinking, in those random mind racing thoughts, of unfinished business but was compelled (as in the finished works of Christ) to write ✍️ “Finished Business“. #OPPOSITE

I was thinking of all the unused potential of a dry kernel of corn 🌽 but instead wrote #OPPOSITE “Popped Corn”. So consider the #OPPOSITE of (need for) born again and (unselected) tree of life as acknowledgement of where the world is now. …of where you are now, at both your worst and best. Now see the beauty of the #OPPOSITE God offers.

I know that what God gave me is out of this world 🌎 but not new. It gets “back to the basics”. It comes out of our conversation, with acknowledgement yet accurate placement, utilization and speech of words (weapons of our warfare…). It utilizes the wisdom of God, operating before the fall of man, like a Sweet Spot home run!

By operating, not in man’s magic or even black girl magic, but in His miracles we know that Victory Belongs to Jesus! We swerved left and He swerve right and gave us the #OPPOSITE and called it the gift of eternal life!

What do you take to someone’s how warming party? A gift 🎁 Well, God does the #OPPOSITE, and welcomes us into His home to give us a 🎁: THE gift Eternal life! 🏃🏽‍♀️ 💃🏼 🕺🏿

In Practice:THE LORD’S DOING

Without knowing, I put these bullet points (actually God did) into practice. I officiated a volleyball game on Thursday 9/30/2021 and was cognizant from the beginning that I would not and did not make as much as the other officials. I thought to ask to be put in another role, but did not. I thought to decline but did not. I thought to complain to a friend but did not. I simply performed the tasks as agreed and kept my mouth shut yet was completely aware.

Lift Him Up

Later that evening I took a LYFT assignment, which I hadn’t done in weeks!!! I took a man by the name of Darrell from the airport to Talledega Speedway. He was both nervous and excited. He was a believer and his mind was battling whether or not he was doing the right thing by attending the races. He made verbal notice of my tag, the Bible on my dash and even with the music low, the station displaying “Hallelujah“. 😂

He needed to stop by a Liquor store and reluctantly asked. The name was IT’S TIME Liquor Store. 😂 That was another confirmation/conviction for him. And he was “oh Lord”-ing the whole trip. Well, He bought a big container of Crown Royal. I estimate it cost him $100+. When I dropped him off he gave me $100 bill cash tip. (The first of many 🙌🏽). Now you need to know that the ride itself paid me more that I made from volleyball that day and the tip was also more than double that.

How is that for a Sweet spot? What a mighty God we serve! Let me not omit that Darrell (means darling or dearly loved) left that Crown Royal Aged RYE (represents Love & Fidelity) NOBLE Collection 👑 in my car!

So, this simple trip paid me more than the other officials collectively and I didn’t (have to) say a mumbling word. Let me be clear, I make none of these statements out of competition, but about the utter Ephesians 3:20 adequacy of God! 😇 🙏🏽

BONUS

Using #OPPOSITE, ALSO, being able to discern absence you can also pray for presence! I welcome you to the disappearing act of all that is fake in the world of all to that is TRUE. For you to seriously know on the inside (no joke) that ”the Lord is my shepherd and I shall not want”!!!

I enter His Gates (territory) with thanksgiving and His Courts (presentation of evidence) with praise. As His beloved, I am thankful for both His presents and presence of Love and Fidelity! (See what I did there? 😜) Great is Thy (hold the note) Faithfulness, Lord unto me!
