The rules were simple: no guarantee that you will not get stung, no guarantee that you will see the queen bee. In this case one out of two ain’t bad and I managed to score on all levels but you had to see it for yourself. #WaitForIt
So today began my first SEE:KIM (Solo Experience & Excursion: Keeping It Moving). I traveled to Marietta, GA for a Beekeeping 101 experience with Mr. Edward Morgan. Why this experience? Well, I think differently: why pay when you can produce? I found this Flow Hive bee hive system during the pandemic on the internet and got a wild hair that I could raise my own honey 🍯 🐝🤔 Here lately, I got the bug to travel and have these experiences… Yada yada yada… And here you have execution! 🙃
It was wonderful to learn so much about the Queen Bee, worker bees and drones. Quick summary: drones are the males. Their sole purpose in life is to mate with the queen bee: they do no work yet live only about 45 days. When it’s time to mate they form a DCA (drone congregation association). It’s like the club and outside of the hive. They hang out here waiting to get their turn to stick it to the queen. I said what I said. That is what they do and All. For when the deed is finished, the queen bee will have the sperm of 15-50 different drones in her because at the end of the flight he breaks his beehood off in her and in my best Baptist hoop… He diiiiiies! 🥴

The Queen is easy to spot. She has the biggest… tail. She lays the eggs and determines the sex of the bee: unfertilized is male, while the fertilized is the female worker bee. Yes she has 2 stomachs and one of them holds that community spermicide that she rations out.
To the Queen Bee: In my Maury voice… in the case of this colony… you ARE the Father! 😂
Regardless of how you feel about this, this is the way it is! But this is not a monarchy completely because the colony creates the queen (or new queen).
You cannot train bees. Bees train you.
SPIRITUALLY SPEAKING
Let me pause for station identification!
I do things I cannot explain. This is one of them. But I have lived long enough to know that obedience proceeds revelation. I file this under, “we’ll understand it better by and by.”
But I can tell you this, I wasn’t afraid. The fear I experienced was the fear of others: those which others had. I had and have on my armor and no weapon… 🤷🏽♀️
This is something I wanted to do and God gave me the desires of my heart (all the way down to it was Him that gave me the thought in the first place). 🤷🏽♀️
In route I prayed and cried in the Spirit and took joy in the smallest of things. What‘s wrong? As far as I know, nothing! But Jehovah Nissi is my Banner and He goes before me. He knows and All is well. 😊 Sounds just like Jesus interceding at the right hand of the Father. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
SUIT UP
So, when we suited up, we had on the jackets and gloves. Tuck the jacket in or risk the bees flying in closer. TUCK! 😂

Now this is where you learn that the bee handling gloves are not smartphone compatible. It was hot, sometimes stifling and 3 of the 7 phones out there overheated. 6 other people came and 1 abandoned ship. So I agreed to help take pictures (I hear my friends going: “oh nooo!”): mine was the last to overheat.

Did I say it was hard to see the phone through the mesh and intense sun 🌞 and heat? Well I didn’t realize there was a problem until I was helping this couple out and the guy said, through cheesing smiles, are you taking selfies? (Price Is Right sound: ba ba ba bahhhh uhnnnnnnn) Yikes 😬 … Sooo and yeah, this explains the collage of pictures I have here. I was supposed to be capturing the others and yes I did see the queen bee. But I guess you will have to have your own experience, BEE FOCUSED and see her for yourself!
